Bio

Justin Bryan

Multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, existential thinker

I've gone by many names. I have traveled many roads. And here we are, together at last in the digital universe. I'm Justin Bryan, from the great state of Rhode Island. Yes, Rhode Island- where the highways are eternally under construction and littered with orange work barrels. Where the people are stressed, and the traffic is crazy. Music is where I find my sanity. My refuge. My hope. My sense of direction, and my direction that makes sense.

I had a song in my heart from my earliest memories. As an infant I would hum to the sound of the vacuum cleaner. I am a drummer first and foremost, discovering guitar later on in life. I am a writer at heart. My great hope is that my music touches the listener on a visceral level, and taps into thoughts and emotions that are always latent... lurking under the surface.

I have played drums for a number of bands throughout my career, including The Shade (Originals, progressive and classic rock covers), The Klassics (50's, 60's, 70's), Lola and the Pallbearers (we partied so much I don't remember what we played), and the CarTune Heros (70's, 80's 90's).

More currently and for the last 15 years (including those dread C-word years) I have been performing as solo acoustic entertainer in various sundry bars, restaurants and houses of ill-repute. I addition, I have the joy of performing for residents and various nursing homes. This is always a blessing, because it brings such joy to the people.

And... I currently work with two excellent duos- I am the guitar player (and backing vocalist) for the Marvin Perry duo. I am the lead singer and rhythm guitar player for another duo called Booze Rooster, along with my dear friend Timothy Archer.

And now, here in 2024, I am releasing my first album of original music that I have poured my heart and soul into. These songs are available to you on this website. I am the writer, arranger and performer on all of these songs. Its been a long journey of writing, recording, re-recording, re-recording again, and so on. I am very proud of this work, and hope that it enlightens you mind,  and moves your soul.

And sometimes, I sleep... that is, when I don't have insomnia.
